Design Notes articles

Everything we've written about design notes, practical guidance from the designers and installers who draw, build and fit these spaces every week.

About this topic

Notes from the design studio

Design notes are the longer-form pieces our team writes between projects, reflections on color, proportion, hardware and the small decisions that separate a built-in that looks installed from one that looks original to the house. They are less how-to and more how-we-think.

Expect posts on choosing finishes that age well, integrating storage with existing millwork and trim, and the details that quietly do the heavy lifting: shadow lines, toe kicks, drawer pulls, lighting temperature.

These are the conversations we have with clients during the Free Consultation, written down so you can arrive with an opinion of your own.

Let's start with a conversation.

A designer will visit your home, measure the space and show you what's possible, with no obligation and no sales pressure.
