Pantry and kitchen storage, planned properly

Kitchen storage fails in predictable ways: shelves too deep to see the back of, no landing space for small appliances, and a pantry that becomes a wall of mismatched containers. The pieces collected here work through better approaches, shallow adjustable shelving, pull-outs sized to real groceries, and dedicated zones for baking, coffee and bulk goods.

We also cover the small pantries, because most homes in Chester County have one. A five-by-five reach-in can hold a surprising amount when the shelf depths vary and the door itself is put to work.

If you are renovating a kitchen, plan the pantry at the same time. Coordinating finishes and hardware between the two rooms costs nothing extra when it happens on paper.
