Franchise questions

Great question. We want our owners to be actively involved, in a design, sales or management role. At this time, we are not seeking executive owners. Franchise owners will lead the team and be involved in the day to day, but not necessarily on site for installations.

Yes. We believe some owners will operate multiple units. We offer discounts on initial franchise fees for owners who commit up front to more than one territory. Each territory will need a design studio, but warehouse space can be shared as long as you have enough storage capacity to meet project demand.

Diplomat Closet Design has a manufacturing sister company called Closet Parts, which is a key supplier and manufacturer of many of the components needed. We also have supplier agreements in place for materials, accessories, hardware, drawer boxes and decorative elements. This allows franchise owners to offer proprietary products that are on-trend and in demand by today's most discerning clients.

No problem. We would recommend you hire a designer to handle this. We have educational support to guide you on the Diplomat Closet Design process used to go from concept to finished design on projects.

Approximately 1,500 square feet is ideal, with parking, drive-by traffic and street signage. We have specific site criteria which will help you evaluate real estate that would be a good fit for your Diplomat Closet Design.

You should be able to open in 6 to 9 months, depending on how quickly you complete the pre-opening steps and training.

If this is not an area of expertise or part of your background, it will be covered in pre-opening training, which in total is one week long.

Yes. A franchise owner can follow our training to become the designer for the business. This is included in our pre-opening training program, which takes just one week and is conducted in Downingtown, PA.

With an active owner operator, we recommend just 2 to 4 employees to round out your expertise and fill the day-to-day roles in the business. The team, covering sales, design, purchasing, receiving and installation, works together to bring each project to fruition.

Startup funding includes the initial franchise fee and other estimated costs such as third-party professional fees, insurance, equipment, furniture, vehicles, initial marketing and three months of working capital. The full range is shown in our investment table.

We share our Financial Performance Representation, called an Item 19, in our Franchise Disclosure Document, which highlights affiliate performance and history. This can be a useful tool to help you evaluate the revenue potential of your individual business.
